Terms of Service

Welcome to Weather Buddie. These Terms of Service explain the rules for using the Weather Buddie Discord bot, website, dashboard, APIs, and related services (together, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Weather Buddie Provides

Weather Buddie provides weather information, forecasts, severe-weather event information, alerts, Discord commands, server configuration tools, status information, and related features. Features may differ by server, account, region, permissions, technical limitations, or availability of third-party data.

2. Eligibility and Account Responsibility

You must be able to legally agree to these Terms to use the Service. If you use the dashboard for a Discord server, you represent that you have the authority or permission to manage that server and its settings. You are responsible for keeping your Discord account secure and for all actions taken through your account.

3. Discord and Third-Party Services

Weather Buddie operates through Discord and may use external weather, mapping, hosting, analytics, or authentication providers. Your use of Discord remains subject to Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Weather Buddie is not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord. Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, outages, limits, or data practices.

4. Weather and Emergency Disclaimer

Weather information is provided for general informational purposes and may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate. Weather Buddie does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or geographic coverage of forecasts, warnings, event timelines, temperatures, or alerts. Do not rely solely on the Service for emergency, travel, medical, maritime, aviation, employment, property, or other safety-critical decisions. Follow official instructions from local authorities and emergency services.

5. Acceptable Use

You may use the Service only for lawful and authorized purposes. You must not:

• abuse, disrupt, attack, overload, scrape, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, APIs, accounts, tokens, or data;
• use the Service to distribute malware, spam, scams, harassment, illegal content, or harmful instructions;
• use dashboard tools to take moderation actions without appropriate server authority;
• circumvent rate limits, access controls, authentication, or feature restrictions; or
• use automated requests in a way that creates unreasonable load or violates a provider’s rules.

6. Server Configuration and Moderation Tools

Server owners and authorized administrators are responsible for reviewing configuration changes, selected channels and roles, alert behavior, welcome messages, automation settings, and moderation actions before saving or using them. Discord permissions still apply. Weather Buddie is not responsible for messages sent to the wrong channel, misconfigured automation, missed alerts, or actions taken by an authorized dashboard user.

7. Availability and Changes

The Service is provided on an “as available” basis. Features may be changed, rate-limited, temporarily unavailable, interrupted, or discontinued at any time, including because of maintenance, provider outages, security issues, or circumstances outside our control. We may also update these Terms. The latest version will be published on this page, and continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

Weather Buddie’s original code, branding, interface, text, and visual assets are owned by or licensed to the Weather Buddie team unless stated otherwise. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, or redistribute the Service or its branding without permission.

9. Feedback

If you send suggestions, bug reports, or other feedback, you allow us to use it to operate and improve Weather Buddie without owing you compensation. Do not include passwords, private tokens, or other sensitive information in feedback or support requests.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, Weather Buddie and its operators will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-profit damages arising from or related to use of, or inability to use, the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Suspension and Termination

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the Service if it is abused, used in violation of these Terms, creates security or operational risk, or when necessary to protect users or the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that should reasonably survive termination, including disclaimers, ownership, limitations, and dispute-related provisions, will continue to apply.

For questions, reports, or concerns regarding these Terms, contact the Weather Buddie team through the official Weather Buddie community or support channels. Do not send credentials, access tokens, or sensitive personal information through public channels.

14. Agreement

By using Weather Buddie, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service.
